What does this have to do with Bootstrap?
It’s a trend that – to me – gained a lot a traction along with the rise of Bootstrap: it’s all too easy to create such a layout using Bootstrap as they are default templates.
Not that Bootstrap is the one single cause, yet I can see a certain correlation between the rise of both.
