2.2 just hits the streets. No major improvements (only the fact that the widgets now have become part of the core is rather big), so a bit weary on the 2.2-ness (why not 2.1.X ?) Still gonna wait a few days to update … You never it might “just break ™”

“We’ve added a hook for WYSIWYG support in a future version of Safari.”
wheres that no major improvement? i think the editor is one of the biggest lacks to the (new) wp users on macs. old school wp and mac users are pretty much used to it, as most webdevs on pc’s are, who do their formatting by hand anyways, but no wysiwyg editor on safari is a big minus for new users wp users on macs imo.
@ Manu: Internally that’s a major improvement indeed, yet the main audience has no message to this. They have been told of a new feature they cannot use yet, above that only the main preparations to this new feature have been implemented, not the feature as a whole.
true, i missed that while being überexited 🙂
so do you know more? how much is implemeted?
and is a “standalone” tinymce not s’ported on safari 2?
Don’t know how far they (viz. them WordPress dudes) are with this implementation, but do know – to answer your second question – that TinyMCE works “OK” on the latest Safari/WebKit builds …
Manu, did some further research on this: Check out the title on this ticket 😉
