Well, maybe I could win this piece of mediaplayer when I write something about my main hosting provider Alfahosting.be …
I joined alfahosting (then known as thefast.be) somewhere … hmm, let me look that up … aha, October 2003 and I must say: they rock! From 2001 ’till then I was hosted at basm (poor student I was, no money you know), but after yet another crash & server fuckup I’ve moved to Alfahosting which also has very attractive pricing and packages.
Since then I’ve only encountered 1 unplanned downtime in February 2004 (does anyone remember “A n o m a l y 1 n t h e S y s t e m C r E W” ?
) but that was fixed within 2 days if I remember correctly. Other minor downtimes were either planned, or only for like 1 minute (quick (service) reboot I think).
So, what does one get at alfahosting? Let me be quick to answer this: A LOT! Yeps: unlimited subdomains, unlimited traffic, unlimited emails, unlimited databases and other nifty stuff.
Above that each client has access to a very usefull and handy cPanel to do the stuff they want to themselves. When something can’t be done through the cPanel (which is quite odd), one can always rely on the fast online support (tickets, MSN), or even give them a call at their mobile.
Oh yeah, in case you were wondering: server speeds are good too
And to keep it that way, Alfahosting just keeps on buying new webservers, to keep up the current quality they have.
Another service alfahosting provides is domain registration. Regged all my domains with them for a very reasonable price ![]()
Anywho, gotta work some more now
